Greetings from the Arizona State Society, Since 1959, the Arizona State Society, a constituent society of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), has provided local AAMA members with opportunities for professional development through continuing education, networking, community outreach, and advocacy for the profession. Through more than half a century, our goal has always been to best serve the medical assistant profession and, in turn, our community. To be blunt, for the Arizona State Society to continue to function, we need your support. We are looking for members who would be interested in continuing the mission of the Arizona State Society by stepping into volunteer roles. Volunteers would assist in the operations of the state society, serve as representatives to the national organization, and help plan and execute CEU opportunities and community outreach events. Whether it is an officer role, or volunteering to help at an event, now is the time to make an impact. Speaking of events, we would like to invite you to an upcoming learning opportunity. Don Balasa, CEO and legal counsel for the AAMA, will be giving a presentation by phone on Saturday, March 14 from 10:00-11:00 am regarding “Good Board Practices and the Significance of Bylaws.” This talk has been pre-approved for 1 AAMA Administrative/General CEU. For call-in details, please RSVP via email with Mary Dockall by Monday, March 9. Please include your Member ID as well for attendance purposes. Those who do not RSVP by this date will not earn the 1 AAMA Administrative/General CEU. If you are interested in pursuing a volunteer position within the state society, or have questions about volunteering, now is the time to act. We kindly ask that you reach out to Mary Dockall within the next 60 days so we can best determine a path forward for the state society.
